Orléans Métropole

An initial series of totem poles and street furniture highlighting local heritage have been installed in the communes of Orléans Métropoles. This first phase, comprising around 35 points of interest, will soon be followed by a second phase of 30 totem poles by the end of the year, covering all the municipalities in the metropolis.

Empreinte and Designers Unit have worked closely together to create these totems in powder-coated steel and enamelled lava panels. Designers Unit brought its design touch to bear on these original-looking totems. For our part, we brought our expertise to bear on the design and choice of materials, with the aim of providing the local authority with signage that is durable, easy to maintain and adapt.

Empreinte's aim is to steer design choices towards solutions that guarantee signage that lasts over time. This reflects our commitment to environmentally-friendly signage and to reducing the ecological impact of our business. This strategic approach was recently recognised by the renewal of our ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications this week.
